?The Time Canvas? is a bold new step for sound explorer Aditi Tahiti. A continuum of sorts with her previous releases ?Why I Left Terra Firma? & ?The Karman Line?, ?The Time Canvas? is stretched wide ? reminding us (as the sage Carl Sagan oft stated) that we are all, like everything, made of ?star stuff?.
ABOUT THE TIME CANVAS:
?The Time Canvas was completed during an investigation into Henri Bergson's
theory on duration. In it, each piece is unique to itself yet essential for
the whole. Drawing on the randomness of life as we find ourselves in different
places moment to moment, a question was raised on how these transitory events
find themselves existing within the timeless. This work has served as a
foundation for explorations I am currently conducting on sound in relation to
consciousness and time. The front cover was drawn at the age of 19 during a
visual exploration into these same themes.? ? Aditi Tahiti
The instruments used in this recording are accordion, kalimba, toy piano, bamboo soprano saxophone, glockenspiel & voice.
" Aditi Tahiti is a recent transplant from the Pacific northwest to the NYC area. Her vocal and harmonium track here is beautiful, especially the layering of the voices and the microtonal nuances therein. On par with some Joan LaBarbara's best work, this is an extraordinary piece.." - From the Heathen Harvest review of Post-Asiatic (Lost War Dream Music) on URCK Records.
