Here's some fire music for ya - music for the Kali Yuga, sounds to scorch the earth clean! This is the first release for the quartet of Micah O' Malley (tenor saxophone), Mark Brumwell (alto clarinet), Joseph Burke (electric bass) and Nathan Collins (drums).


BIO:

Solar Dynasty came together in 1995 in Florida, joining forces out of mutual admiration for the fervor of John Coltrane as well as shared interests in investigating everything from speaking in tongues to transcending the space - time continuum.

In 1996, they moved to Boston and began to eliminate everything from daily life which might prove to be an obstacle from being able to make great music. They played in a clandestine environment every day for 5 years with a mission of removing ego driven thought from musical expression. When they did finally surface in public, it was to travel across the country and take part in a Sundara Kanda (musical celebration highlighting the exploits of Lord Hanuman taken from the Ramayana). After spending nine days and nights (Navaratri) immersed in the worship of Kali the Divine Mother, they decided that it was time for a change.

Renouncing everything except for musical instruments, they lived in the hills of Northern California to study Vedic rituals. After initiation into the tribe of Saraswati they left for a life on the road which has led them to travel to the four corners of the earth. With Arrows in the Quiver, Solar Dynasty hits a bulls-eye into the heart of energy music.
